in studio : february

I’ve found this tine of year to be quiet, slow and fit for reflection. I’ve begun a painting I’ve put no timeline on, had no plans for and am allowing myself to paint what feels both right and challenging to me. I’m obsessed. I have spent more nights in my studio than ever and don’t want to leave when it’s time to go. Taking real time to create is counterintuitive to most things…productivity, content, deadlines…ultimately it’s not realistic but I’ve been reminded of the importance of slow, focused creating…fully encompassing obsession.

Since I’ve been in my new space for some time now, it feels right to have a sort of open house/party…I would love to know if anyone here would be interested? Tell me your thoughts while I get to planning!

With love and gratitude,

Abbey
